Garageband Keeps Freezing
Ddevice: IPad 6th gen
IpadOs version: 13.3.3
Problem:
Delete the tracks in your GarageBand project (you might want to save before you do this). Locate the file you just exported and drag it onto the timeline. This will create a single new track to replace the ones you just deleted. This process also has the benefit of converting the Software Instrument Loops to a recording.
Since the update from Ios 12.4.1 to IpadOs GarageBand keeps quitting unexpectedly when a project is playing/recording in the background.
- Open a project in GarageBand. Go to GarageBand Preferences Audio/MIDI, and deselect Audio Units. Play back a project that has been experiencing issues. If the project opens and plays back properly, a plug-in you're using in the project might be damaged or incompatible with your version of GarageBand.
- Garageband 10.10.1 never finish installing loops in Yosemite 10.10.1http://www.dognmonkey.com/techs/how-to-fix-garageband-10-10-3-failing-to-download-and-ins.
- I've been using GB for years, with M-Audio Firewire Solo. I record guitar and vocals. Never any major problems that I couldn't fix (mostly based on M-audio device not being recognized occasionally). Files are large, multi tracks. I don't lock tracks and have never had performance issues.
This was never a problem on Ios12.
I read on the internet this is not always the case with the newest IPad models.

A message to the developers, can you fix this or report this to Apple?
Garageband Keeps Freezing Away
It is impossible for musicians to work with 3rd party apps now while GB is active in background.
thank you.
